Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke Attempt 1 Part 3

Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke Part 3

After arriving in Jubilife City Dawn takes me to the Pokemon School so I can brush up on my battling techniques and I acquire a Poketech after finding some clowns to obtain a Poketch my worst enemy appeared to challenge me to another fight. For some reason Myself didn't do well and went down easy, wish he was this easy in real life.

In route 203 I caught a zubat I named Zuzu and a Psyduck named Duckdodgers in Oreburgh Gate. Myself told me the Gym leader was tough and he went to the Mines for some reason, but I ignored his warning and went into the mines where I encountered a Geodude. I wanted to catch the Geodude but ended up knocking him it instead.

After battling a few of the miners I headed for Roarks gym. I decided to test myself by battling the trainers in the gym, who I crushed by the way. So I was confident going into the battle against Gym Leader Roark.

I switch Duckdodger into the first slot for an added bit of caution and before Roark even sent out a Pokemon he flashed that stupid light from his helmet into my eyes blinding me...
So I had Duckdodger destroy his Geodude and Onix with ease. I felt like I was being to cautios now that he was down to one Pokemon and I haven't even taken damage yet...

But then came out his Cranidos, His little dinosaur Pokemon was faster and used leer. Duckdodger countered with Water Gun doing almost half his health.

Cranidos then went for a Headbutt knocking out Psyduck. (Big breath) okay, I was prepared for something to go wrong, that's why I started with him anyways. So I bring out Hikari to Finish the job.

Oh... Cranidos was faster and flinched Hikari with a headbutt. I was then praying that Hikari could tank another one but when it knocked him out I knew it was over. Starfy 2 doesn't have the moves needed to do any decent damage and I didn't even think I would be needing to bring out Zuzu so I didn't train him.

And with that it was over. I have heard that in these runs the first big challenge can come from the first two gyms but I thought I would of been able to do more. Maybe if I had caught that geodude I would of been able to of survived that headbutting Cranidos.

I should of realized, Pokemon Platnium is said to be one of the hardest Pokemon games, perhaps it would of been better if I had started with any other Pokemon generation.. But I'm not going to let that stop my now.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke Attempt 1 Part 2

Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke Part 2

After a quick couple levels to help keep my current Pokemon alive I head to route 202 where Dawn wants to teach me how to catch Pokemon even though I already caught something. So instead I'll just give you guys a little math problem.

In Dawn's catching tutorial she had 20 Pokeballs, she uses one of them to catch a bidoof, she then gave Nuzz 5 Pokeballs. How many Pokeballs does may have left? leave your answers in the comments below.

When she was done with her demonstration I encountered a another wild Bidoof, luckily since I already had one of the species I could just knock it out for exp and catch the Starly that appeared after that. I named this one Starfy 2.

Then in a wild battle against a krikitot Big Foot sell to a bide. I thought I could take it out before it unleashed it's attack but I failed. The next trainer battle I went in with confidence since my other two Pokemon had higher levels.

But once the battle started in the back of my mind was the death of my unbeloved Bidoof, was it a sign of things to come? An unsettling terror started creeping up my spine, was I ready for Lass Natalie, she had a level 5 Bidoof (not realizing this was all she had) I was starting to think that she my be more than what I was ready for. Her none existent second Pokemon could of been stronger. But as her Bidoof fainted and the battle ended I let out a sigh of relief.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke Attempt 1 Part 1

Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke PART 1

So I named myself Nuzz to remind myself that this is a true Nuzzlocke and named my rival SUB PLS, the two of us head off in search of the Professor Rowan to convince him to give us Pokemon, but before we take a step into the tall grass that very same professor stops us (what are the chances we'd find him as soon as we left our small village of only 4 houses and lack of Marts and Centers). He decided that I'm likely to get myself killed for attempting a Nuzzlocke and decided to give us our first Pokemon.

I decided to pick the Water type Piplup and name it Hikari after the female lead in the anime this generation.

After a tough battle against PLS SUB where I almost lost, I head back home to tell my mother what happened. Who grounded me for 3 weeks after attempting to do something so dangerous.

3 weeks had past and I was ready to take on the world, after seeing a man contemplate life at Lake Verity PLS SUB and I head to Prof. Rowan's lab in Sandgem Town who told us to fill in his pokedex for him so he could take the credit for himself and not have to do anything...

Dawn then showed me the way to the Poke Mart where I bought some Pokeballs. I immediately headed for Route 201 to catch my first Pokemon, I decided to call this Starly Starfy after the main character in a video game series I had never actually played.

When I went back home to Twinleaf Town and told my Mother I'd be gone for awhile to go on an adventure, Pls Sub's mother came and ask me to deliver a parcel to him for her.

Then it was time for me to save my game however the game would not let me save since their was already a save game. How was I supposed to know that I was supposed to delete the save before I started a new game?

So now I had to redo everything I just did, this time naming my rival after my greatest enemy(don't say name just show it)
Since I also had to redo my first catch I ended up catching a Bidoof instead unfortunately. I named her Big Foot.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke Attempt 1 Intro

 INTRO

For a long time now I've haven't been into Pokemon as much as I used too, In fact the last time I became a champion was in Pokemon Y back in gen 6 which was back in 2013 almost 8 YEARS AGO!? And I stopped playing after I got Mewtwo.

I have played some of the gen 7 and 8 games but haven't even finished the Gyms and Trials. I have also tried doing some light hearted Nuzzlocks to try to get more into the games again, but was really laxed about the rules and never even finished them.

This time however I'll be going full Nuzzlocke in this run in the last Pokemon game I was truly able to enjoy, Pokemon Platinum.

The rules for this run are

1. Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released
2. I may only catch the first wild Pokémon encountered in each area (no dupes, must be a new species I haven't got)
3. The player must nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.

Add-on Rules
4. A black out/white out is considered to be a "game over," even if there are usable Pokémon left in the PC
5. The battle style must be changed to "set"
6. Potions and status-healing items may not be used in battle
7. Master Balls may not be used.
8. Level limit based on the next Gym Leader/Champions highest level Pokemon

Also you may of noticed that this video is much different from my usual ones, let me know what you think in the comments.

And now on with the Pokemon Platinum Nuzzlocke...
